The Höllengrund – Pulverberg nature reserve is a 15  hectare nature reserve in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

The approximately 15.15 ha area with the identification number 1188 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of June 9, 1995 . The State Environment Agency Brandenburg (Department of Ecology, Nature Conservation, Water) is responsible.

The nature reserve stretches from the community of Zeuthen along the Ebbe graben over the Pulverberg to Wildau . It was created as a former Ice Age meltwater channel in the last Glacial Vistula . The brown-breasted hedgehog , red fox , deer and brown hare as well as the wild rabbit , the shrew and the mole have been identified. They live on dry meadow steppes, spring meadows and wet meadows.

Nature reserve

The ordinance on the nature reserve includes the following protection purposes:

"[...] as the location of rare, threatened wild plant communities, in particular the remains of a softwood floodplain, large sedge meadows, alder swamps, willow bushes, wet meadows and dry grassland [...] as a habitat for endangered animal species, especially as a breeding and feeding area for numerous small bird species and as a retreat for endangered amphibians and reptiles and insects bound to aquatic habitats and arid biotopes [...] in its valley gully, deeply and prominently cut into the landscape, due to the special geological conditions, the bottom of Hell with a meandering natural stream, the Ebburden [...] For ecological reasons, to secure the small water chain within the framework of the regional biotope network and to maintain and restore the self-cleaning power of the flowing water system. "
