Bukoitza , Lower Sorbian Bukojca , is a dwelling place of the town Lübben (Spreewald) in Dahme-Spreewald in Brandenburg . The place is located in the nature reserve of the same name .

location

Bukoitza is located in the Oberspreewald on the Nordumfluter , around seven kilometers south-east of Lübben. Neighboring villages are Radensdorf in the north, Burglehn in the northeast, Alt Zauche in the east, Wotschofska in the southeast, Lübbenau ( Stottoff and Stennewitz residential areas ) in the south, Ragow in the southwest, Ellerborn and Steinkirchen in the west and Lübben in the northwest.

Bukoitza can be reached via a connecting road with the neighboring town of Radensdorf.

history

In 1926, the “An der Bukoitza” restaurant was opened in the Oberspreewald along the northern floodplain. The name Bukoitza describes a red beech nhain. Later, a development settlement was built north of the inn. The inn was closed in 2003, after which the building fell into disrepair. In 2016 the building was bought and renovated, and since 2019 it has been operated as an inn again.

Nature reserve

To the east of the settlement is the nature reserve of the same name. The area with the identification number 1291 was placed under nature protection on September 12, 1990, comprises a 15 hectare forest area and is bordered in the north by the Schuberts Graben and in the south by the A-Graben Nord . It is part of the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve .
