history
The place name means "creek where the hazel trees stand". Haßlach is present in historical sources early on. In 1068 the possession of the royal court Forchheim was confirmed to the diocese of Bamberg by the later Emperor Heinrich IV. The associated "Haselahe" was also mentioned.
In 1462, Margrave Albrecht Achilles from Bayreuth had Haßlach and a number of other Bamberg villages burned down during the Prince's War . At that time the place belonged to Amt and Fraisch Pottenstein. At the beginning of the 19th century, 36 people lived there in 6 houses and a farmstead.
Until the municipality reform , Haßlach was an independent municipality in what was then the Pegnitz district . Districts were Haselbrunn , Kleinlesau , Mandlau , Prüllsbirkig and Weidmannsgesees . On January 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Pottenstein.
