Hans Jakob Fürchtegott Kasimir von Hülsen (born August 6, 1776 in Königsberg , † November 16, 1849 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

His parents were the district administrator Karl Wilhelm von Hülsen (* March 4, 1734 - May 5, 1810) and his wife Eleonore Albertine Kasimira, née Countess von Schlieben (* July 21, 1751 - April 9, 1797) from the Birkenfeld family . His father was a staff captain a. D. , most recently in the “von Zastrow” infantry regiment and hereditary lord of Zohlen, Maraunen, Besseleck, Sudlack, Bauditten and Dynisten. His brother Kasimir von Hülsen (1778-1858) was a Prussian major general.

On September 4, 1809, he joined the 4th East Prussian Infantry Regiment as a staff captain and on October 8, 1811, he was promoted to captain and company commander . In the campaign of 1812 , Hülsen fought in battle near Schlockhof, Eckau and Ragnit. He was wounded in the left knee in Schlockhof. During the Wars of Liberation , Hülsen fought in the battles near Großbeeren , Dennewitz and Leipzig . For Dennewitz he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class. Hülsen was badly wounded near Leipzig and had to return home. Before that he fought in the siege of Spandau and the battles near Zuckow, Wittenberg and Coswig. At that time he was on December 20, 1813 battalion commander in the 1st Westphalian Landwehr Infantry Regiment with the character of a major . On July 28, 1814 he got the patent for this rank. He fought with the regiment near Ligny , where Hülsen acquired the Order of St. Vladimir IV. Class, but was seriously wounded again.

On August 25, 1815 he was commissioned to lead the West Prussian Landwehr Infantry Regiment (7/6). On May 31, 1816 he came to the 1st Klever Landwehr Infantry Regiment. On October 5, 1817, Hülsen was appointed regimental commander, but due to his injuries he was no longer fit for the field. Therefore, on November 27, 1817, he was transferred to the 4th Department ( Mount ) of the War Ministry. In this position, Hülsen was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 30, 1822 with a patent from April 7, 1822 . His services in the ministry were on February 6, 1823 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. honored with a bonus of 400 thalers. On March 30, 1828, he became a colonel with a patent from April 2, 1828, and on March 30, 1835, Hülsen was given the status of major general. On March 18, 1838, Hülsen received his desired farewell and pension on the award of the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves . On January 22nd, 1843 he was awarded the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves. He died on November 16, 1849 in Berlin and was buried on November 19, 1849 in the garrison cemetery.

He married on July 5, 1803 in Bartenstein, Friederike Wilhelmine Karoline von Klüchtzner (* April 12, 1778, † March 19, 1830) from the Wodungsheim family, a daughter of General Karl Ludwig Ferdinand von Klüchtzner .
