Harold C. Ostertag

Harold Charles Ostertag (born June 22, 1896 in Attica , Wyoming County , New York , † May 2, 1985 in Pompano Beach , Florida ) was an American politician , member of the Republican Party and member of the US House of Representatives for the state of New York.

Life

After attending public schools, graduating from the Chamberlain Military Institute (1915) and participating in the First World War , Ostertag worked for the New York Central Railroad from 1917 to 1950. Ostertag was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1932 to 1950 and then from 1951 to 1951 1965 Member of the House of Representatives for New York State. He was also elected several times (1952, 1956 and 1960) as a delegate to the Republican National Convention , a four-year meeting to nominate the candidate of the Republican Party for the election of US President and to determine the party program.
