Hadwen C. Fuller

Hadwen Carlton Fuller (born August 28, 1895 in West Monroe , Oswego County , New York , †  January 29, 1990 in Parish , New York) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1949 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Hadwen Fuller attended his home public schools and Central Square High School . He then worked for the First National Bank of Central Square between 1912 and 1918 . In 1918, he served during the final stages of World War I in the US Army . In 1919 he founded the State Bank of Parish , where he held the position of director, and in 1926 the Parish Oil Co. , of which he became president in 1937. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1942 he was their district chairman in Oswego County. He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1942 and 1943 .

After the death of MP Francis D. Culkin , Fuller was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on November 2, 1943 when he was due for the by-election for the 32nd seat in New York . After two re-elections in the 35th electoral district , he could remain in Congress until January 3, 1949 . These were shaped by the events of the Second World War and its consequences.

In 1948, Fuller was not re-elected. In June of this year he attended the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia as a delegate . After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, he resumed his previous activities. He died on January 29, 1990 in Parish, where he had passed his old age, at the age of 94.
