L. William "Bill" Paxon (born April 29, 1954 in Buffalo , New York ) is an American politician . Between 1989 and 1999 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives . Congressman Susan Molinari is his wife.

Career

Bill Paxon graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo in 1968 . He attended Fordham University in New York City . In 1977 he did his Bachelor of Arts at Canisius College in Buffalo. He served in the Erie County Legislature from 1978 to 1982 and in the New York State Assembly from 1982 to 1988 . Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party .

In the 1988 congressional elections for the 101st Congress , Paxon was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 31st  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Jack Kemp on January 4, 1989 . He was re-elected once. In 1992 he ran in the 27th constituency of New York for the 103rd Congress . After a successful election, he succeeded James T. Walsh on January 4, 1993 . He was re-elected twice in a row. Since he on a run again in 1998 renounced, he left the after Jan. 3, 1999 Congress of.
