Thomas Y. Howe junior

Thomas Y. Howe junior (* 1801 in Auburn , New York ; † July 15, 1860 there ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1851 and 1853 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Thomas Howe completed his preliminary studies. Between 1834 and 1838 he was an inspector at Auburn Prison . He was elected Guardianship and Probate Judge for Cayuga County - a post he held from March 18, 1836 to April 14, 1840. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party . In the congressional elections of 1850 for the 32nd Congress Howe was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 25th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Harmon S. Conger on March 4, 1851 . He retired from the after March 3, 1853 Congress of. After his time in Congress he was mayor of Auburn and held the post from March 1853 to March 1854. He died on July 15, 1860 in Auburn and was buried in Fort Hill Cemetery .
