William H. Flack

William Henry Flack (born March 22, 1861 in Franklin Falls , New York , † February 2, 1907 in Malone , New York) was an American politician . Between 1903 and 1907 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

William Henry Flack was born in Franklin County about three weeks before the outbreak of the Civil War . He attended public schools. Then he worked as a lumberjack and tanner. He spent seven years as supervisor in the Town of Waverly and two years as chairman of the Committee. In 1897 he was named County Clerk in Franklin County. He was re-elected to office in 1900. Politically, he belonged to the Republican Party . Between 1898 and 1902 he chaired the Republican County Committee . He served as a trustee in the Village of Malone and was elected President of the Village in 1902.

In the 1902 congressional elections for the 58th Congress , Flack was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 26th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded John Wilbur Dwight on March 4, 1903 . He was re-elected once but died before the end of his term on February 2, 1907 in Malone. His body was then interred in Morningside Cemetery .
