Thomas Reynolds (born September 3, 1950 in Bellefonte , Pennsylvania ) is an American politician . Between 1999 and 2009 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Thomas Reynolds was born in Center County about five years after the end of World War II . He graduated from the Springville-Griffith Institute in Springville . He then attended Kent State University in Kent ( Ohio ). Between 1970 and 1976 he served in the New York National Guard . He was in the 1974 Town Board of Concord selected. He worked there until 1982. In 1982 he was elected to the Erie County Legislature . He worked there until 1988. Between 1988 and 1998 he was a member of the New York State Assembly . Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party .

In the 1998 congressional election for the 106th Congress , Reynolds was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 27th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Bill Paxon on January 4, 1999 . He was re-elected once. In 2002 he ran for the 108th Congress in the 26th constituency of New York . After a successful election, he succeeded Maurice Hinchey on January 4, 2003 . He was re-elected twice in a row. Since he on a run again in 2008 renounced, he left the after January 3, 2009 Congress of.
