Harrison Reed (born January 18, 1988 in Newmarket , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen from the DEL2 .

Career

Harrison Reed was drawn in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes in 93rd position.

On March 3, 2010, Reed moved together with Stéphane Yelle in exchange for Cédric McNicoll and the six-round draft pick at the NHL Entry Draft 2010 from the organization of the Carolina Hurricanes to the Colorado Avalanche franchise . There the striker was used in the farm team Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL . In addition, Reed ran up to December 29, 2010 in 28 games for the Tulsa Oilers from the CHL . In early September 2011 he joined Toledo Walleye from the ECHL . In the pre-season, Reed denied the training camp of the Rockford IceHogs from the AHL, whose farm team is Walleye, but returned to Toledo. During the season, the right-handed shooter ran into try-out contracts for the Lake Erie Monsters and the Houston Eros from the AHL. On September 5, 2012, Stockton Thunder announced the Canadian's signing. In the 2012/13 season Reed played in the ECHL for Stockton, in addition, he completed another guest appearance with the Lake Erie Monsters in the AHL during the season.

Reed was signed to the Crimmitschau Ice Pirates in July 2013 . In his first season in Europe he and Max Campbell formed a very dangerous attacking duo: he scored 40 goals, reached 50 assists and was top scorer of the DEL2 with Justin Kelly with 90 points . After a year in Crimmitschau, the Straubing Tigers from the DEL signed the Canadian in April 2014 . At the Tigers, Reed was the second best scorer within the team in the 2014/15 season.

In June 2015 he returned to the second division when he - just like Max Campbell - was signed by the Dresden Ice Lions . In contrast to Campbell, Reed was able to convince at the Eislöwen, was the team's top scorer (67 games, 64 points, 28 goals) and led the team together with Mark Cullen and Teemu Rinkinen to the playoff semi-finals. Then Reed moved to the first Danish league, the Metal Ligaen , where he was also top scorer at Sønderjyske Ishockey and led the team into the playoffs. After a year in Denmark, he moved on to Norway to the Norwegian series champion Stavanger Oilers . The entire Oilers team played below expectations at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, so the club's officials decided to release another contingent player in addition to Reed. A few days later, Reed returned to the Ice Lions in the DEL2. He was under contract with the Eislöwen until the end of the 2018/19 season, but due to a long injury he did not achieve the consistency and scoring risk of his first engagement.
