mayor

Mayor is Mario Faustner (ÖVP).

After the separation of the municipality from Bocksdorf on January 1, 1992, Josef Bauer (ÖVP), who had already been on the Bocksdorf municipal council for nine years, was elected mayor. Although the trained bricklayer and later foreman had to commute himself, he managed to implement important projects in the community. The construction of a new municipal office, the fire station and the building yard fell into his tenure as well as the creation of apartments, the redesign of the town square and the church square and the renovation of the infrastructure (canal, streets, sidewalks and street lighting). At the same time as his retirement, he resigned from his position as mayor on January 5, 2017. On January 27, 2017, his desired successor, Mario Faustner (ÖVP), previously a member of the local council, was elected mayor by the local council.

In the direct mayor election on October 1, 2017, Faustner was confirmed in office by 58.23% of the voters. As a competitor came Walter Zloklikovits (SPÖ), who received 41.77% of the vote.

At the constituent meeting of the municipal council, Zloklikovits was elected deputy mayor. Faustner and Zloklikovits together with the executive councilor Patrick Krammer (ÖVP) also form the community board.

The head of office is Ute Gurdet.
