Inzenhof is a municipality with 315 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Burgenland in the Güssing district in Austria .

The Hungarian place name of the municipality is Borosgödör .

geography

The community is located in southern Burgenland . Inzenhof is the only village in the municipality. Other places are Fuchsgraben , Kranigraben and Weinberg .

history

The place belonged, like the whole of Burgenland, to Hungary (German-West Hungary) until 1920/21 . Since 1898 had due to the Magyarization of the government in Budapest of Hungarian name Borosgödör be used. After the end of the First World War , after tough negotiations, German-West Hungary was awarded to Austria in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919.

The place has belonged to the newly founded state of Burgenland since 1921 .

Mayor is Jürgen Schabhüttl (SPÖ).

After the age-related resignation of Gerhard Schabhüttl (SPÖ), Jürgen Schabhüttl (SPÖ) was elected new mayor by the local council on March 30, 2007 . In the direct mayor election on October 7, 2007, he was confirmed in office by 59.87% of voters. In the 2012 election his share of the vote was 77.75%. In the election on October 1, 2017, Jürgen Schabhüttl had a new competitor in Christoph Kurta, who ran for the Independent List & ÖVP list , but still received 65.88% approval. The police officer Jürgen Schabhüttl, who was also a member of the Austrian National Council from July 15, 2015 to November 8, 2017 and has been a member of the Austrian Federal Council since November 16, 2017 , entered his third term as mayor.

On March 28, 2011 the municipal council decided on a municipal coat of arms for the municipality. The coat of arms was awarded on May 13, 2012 during a ceremony by the Governor of Burgenland, Hans Niessl .

The coat of arms represents the houses with thatched roofs and the viticulture in Inzenhof, which are historically documented. Blazon : “Above a golden shield base in red a golden house with black window openings and a golden gable roof, the roof covered by two inwardly turned golden grapes 4: 3: 2: 1 with two golden leaves. ”The church colors were set with red / gold.
