Holsbeek is a Belgian municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant . It consists of the four sub-municipalities Holsbeek, Kortrijk-Dutsel, Nieuwrode and Sint-Pieters-Rode.

Origin of name

Holsbeek was first mentioned in 874, then under the name Hulisbach. The current spelling has only been in use since 1760. The name is made up of Hols, which comes from Hulst and is the Dutch name for a holly, and Beek, which means something like Bach .
