Listen to the Wezembeek Oppem ^{? / i} is a Belgian facility municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant . The current municipality emerged from the amalgamation of Wezembeek and Oppem.

Wezembeek-Oppem is the only municipality with facilities around Brussels that does not directly border the Brussels-Capital Region . Rather, the municipality is separated from Woluwe-Saint-Pierre / Sint-Pieters-Woluwe by a strip of the Kraainem land area that is only a few hundred meters wide .

The community is home to a large community of international expatriates , partly because of the International German School Brussels located in Wezembeek-Oppem and the British school located in neighboring Tervuren . In particular, the place is considered a stronghold for German speakers in the Brussels region; According to the figures from the Directorate-General for Statistics and Business Information , over 5 percent of the population are German-speaking foreigners, plus German-speaking Belgians. In addition to the German school, there are German-speaking kindergartens, shops, doctors and clubs.
