IC 1003 is a compact galaxy with an active galactic nucleus from Hubble type ce0 in the constellation Virgo the northern sky . It is an estimated 363 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 29, 1892 .
