IC 990 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 347 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 60,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5515 , NGC 5536 and NGC 5541 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on May 31, 1886 .
