IC 2049 is a spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Netz in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 58 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 15,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1543 and IC 2037 , among others .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 8, 1899 .
