IC 2046 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 462 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 110,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 2044 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
