IC 2033 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is an estimated 548 million light years from the Milky Way and about 190,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1515 , NGC 1523 , IC 2043 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
