IC 2045 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 402 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 120,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1535 and NGC 1538 .
The object was discovered on January 20, 1900 by Herbert Alonzo Howe .
