IC 2043 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 518 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 220,000 ly.

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
