IC 2050 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Dorado in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 545 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 180,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 2043 and IC 2052 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on December 7, 1899 .
