The 1950/51 season was the sixth regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the six teams played between 52 and 56 games. In the play-offs, the Toledo Mercurys prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their club history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Windsor Ryancretes stopped the game.
- The Grand Rapids Rockets from the Eastern Amateur Hockey League were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Toledo Mercurys returned to the IHL after a year in the Eastern Amateur Hockey League.
