The Igelsee area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.211) in the north of the Baden-Württemberg community of Neukirch in Germany, which was designated by ordinance of October 1, 1992 by the Tübingen regional council .

location

The approximately 17 hectare large nature reserve Igelsee is one natural area to Westallgäuer hills . It is located north of the center of Neukirch, east of the Oberrussenried district and west of Vorderessach , at an altitude of 545  m above sea level. NN .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the flat and hill spring moor with its surrounding litter meadows and meadow areas. The creation of buffer zones and the implementation of other protective and maintenance measures are necessary in order to maintain and improve the ecological environment of this habitat.
