The Altweiherwiese area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.093) in the northeast of the Baden-Württemberg municipality of Oberteuringen in the Lake Constance district in Germany, which was designated by the Tübingen Regional Council by ordinance of November 16, 1981 .
location
The approximately 78 hectare large nature reserve Altweiherwiese is one natural area to Upper Swabian hills . It is located northeast of Oberteuringen, between the hamlets of Reute in the north, Lempfriedsweiler in the east, Krehenberg in the southeast and Blankenried in the south, at an altitude of 450 m above sea level. NN . The nature reserve includes the Taldorfer Bach and Bibrucker Bach corridors .
Enclosed and the nature reserve of the conservation area " Altweiherwiese and Taldorfer Bach ". It serves to avoid negative influences on the nature reserve through disturbing changes or changes in the environment that affect the natural balance.
history
In the late Middle Ages , St. Gallen monks built a pond in the valley floor of the Taldorfer Bach . After silting up, it was drained in the middle of the 18th century , used as a litter meadow until the middle of the 20th century and the cuttings in the surrounding farms were used as litter in the cattle stalls.
In earlier literature sources the Altweiherwiese is also described under the names Teuringer Moos or Altweihermoor .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of the large contiguous reed population with the surrounding littered meadows and the alder borders and willow bushes in them as a habitat for a rich flora and fauna.

- Broad-leaved cottongrass ( Eriophorum latifolium ); from the sour grass family
- Beautiful carnation ( Dianthus superbus ); a species that belongs to the carnation family
- Siberian iris ( Iris sibirica ), also called meadow iris; a representative of the iris family
fauna
The following species (selection) from the fauna worthy of protection are to be named:
- Tree falcon ( Falco subbuteo ); a small representative of the falcon-like
- Scabiosen-Scheckenfalter ( Euphydryas aurinia ), also called Goldener Scheckenfalter; a butterfly from the noble butterfly family
- Water rail ( Rallus aquaticus ); a species from the family of the walleye
Landscape protection area
Located around the nature reserve is the 76-hectare nature reserve Altweiherwiese and Taldorfer Bach (LSG No. 4.35.003) , which was designated on March 31, 1952 . It is described as a geologically significant meltwater channel from the late Worm Ice Age and is a section of the Ur- Argen .
