The Wasenmoos area is a nature conservation area (NSG number 4.025) in the northeast of the Baden-Württemberg city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Germany, designated by ordinance of the Württemberg Minister of Culture as a higher nature conservation authority (successor is the Tübingen Regional Council) .
location
The approximately 27 hectare Wasenmoos nature reserve is part of the Lake Constance basin and the Upper Swabian hill country . It is located around 2.4 kilometers north of Tettnang city center in the Fünfehrlen district , west of the Blumenrain district and east of federal highway 467 near Obermeckenbeuren , at an altitude of 465 m above sea level. NN . The NSG extends in a north-south facing valley from Liebenau to Kaltenberg. In the literature, the NSG Wasenmoos has also become known under the following names: Wasenmoos south of Liebenau , Wasenmoos near Meckenbeuren or Wasenmoos near Obermeckenbeuren with its northern continuation, the Weiherwiesen von Liebenau . It is easy to confuse it with the NSG Wasenmoos near Grünkraut, southeast of Ravensburg , which is not far away !
Protection purpose
Essential protective purpose is to maintain a flat and transition Moors on a würmeiszeitlichen Talwasserscheide, mostly abgetorft with birch -Bruchwald.
Flora and fauna

From the flora worthy of protection the following plant species (selection) are to be named:
- Common cranberry ( Vaccinium oxycoccos ); a representative of the heather family (Ericaceae)
- Silver birch ( Betula pendula ), also called sand , white or warty birch ; a deciduous deciduous tree from the birch family
- Bogberry ( Vaccinium uliginosum ), also blackberry or bogberry ; is a shrub belonging to the genus of blueberries
- Round-leaved Sundew ( Drosera rotundifolia ), also called Himmelstau , Herrgottslöffel or Widdertod ; a species from the sundew family (Droseraceae)
- White Schnabelried ( Rhynchospora alba ); a representative of the sour grass family
