In the NSG Seefelder Aach estuary

The Seefelder Aach estuary is a designated nature reserve (NSG number 4.059) in the Baden-Württemberg community of Uhldingen-Mühlhofen in the Lake Constance district in Germany by ordinance of November 5, 1940 by the Minister for Culture and Education (successor is the Tübingen regional council) . It includes the confluence of the Linzer Aach, referred to here as Seefelder Aach , into Lake Constance .

location

The approximately 55 hectare large nature reserve Seefeld Aach estuary , west of the district Oberuhldingen and north of the district located Unteruhldingen, is one natural area to Lake basin and is situated at an altitude of 398 m above sea level. NN .

Protection purpose

The main protective purpose of the NSG Seefelder Aach estuary is the preservation of a unique area of the estuary into Lake Constance with extensive reed areas , a shallow water zone, the tall herbaceous area, the reed areas and the oxbow lakes of the Linzer Aach, which is only mentioned in the lower reaches and estuary of the Seefelder Aach .

Flora and fauna

The area serves as a habitat for numerous rare fish , insects , water birds , reptiles and amphibians, some of which are threatened with extinction .

From the flora worthy of protection , besides pipe grass meadows and tall perennial rivers, the following plant species should be mentioned:

the sump iris ( Iris pseudacorus ), a native plant of the family of the Iridaceae

the common snowball ( Viburnum opulus ), a species from the musk herb family

the white willow ( Salix alba ), a species from the willow family
