The Gemsenweiher area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.210) in the municipality of Neukirch in Baden-Württemberg , Germany, designated by the ordinance of October 1, 1992 by the Tübingen Regional Council .
location
The approximately twelve hectare (ha) Gemsenweiher nature reserve , located in the north of Neukirch, between the hamlets of Zannau in the north, Hinteressach in the east, Landholz in the south and the NSG Jägerweiher in the west, is part of the West Allgäu hill country and is at an altitude of 560 m ü. NN .
Protection purpose
The main protective purpose of the NSG Gemsenweiher is the preservation of the former pond , which has developed into a flat moor with littered meadows that provide habitat for numerous protected and rare plant and animal species.
Flora and fauna

According to the Baden-Württemberg Red Lists, three species of the plants found in the area are endangered and 18 species are endangered. From the flora worthy of protection , the following plant species (selection) are to be named:
