Indian Premier League 2018
The Indian Premier League 2018 (officially: VIVO Indian Premier League 2018) was the eleventh season of the twenty20 format competition for Indian cricket teams and took place between April 7 and May 27, 2018. In the final, the Chennai Super Kings prevailed against the Sunrisers Hyderabad with eight wickets.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were back for the first time after a two-year ban. The interim replacement teams Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions were not allowed to play.

format
The eight franchises play in a group twice against each other team. She receives two points for every win and one point for every draw or no result . The four first placed in the group qualified for the playoffs, which are played in the page playoff system .

A new broadcast rights contract was awarded for this season. Star India was able to secure this for 163.48 billion rupees (2.5 billion US dollars ) for the seasons 2018-2022, which meant a 158% increase compared to the last contract.
Player auction
The player auction took place on January 27th and 28th, 2018. Each franchise was allowed to keep five players from the previous season, special regulations were made for the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals.
