La Celle is a French municipality with 84 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Ours (until 2015 Pontaumur ). The inhabitants are called cellois .

La Celle is about 50 kilometers west-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the old cultural landscape of the Combrailles . La Celle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Mazière-aux-Bons-Hommes in the north and north-west, Mérinchal in the north, Saint-Avit in the east and north-east, Condat-en-Combraille in the east, Giat in the south and Basville in the west and north-west. The municipality is crossed by the river Tyx , which forms Lake Étang de Tyx on the eastern border . The area around the lake is designated as a type 1 ecotope (French ZNIEFF , zone naturelle d'interêt écologique, faunistique et floristique ).
