İnegölspor is a Turkish football club from the district town of İnegöl , which is located in the province of Bursa . The team currently plays in the third-class TFF 2nd Lig . The club colors are bordeaux red with white. After Bursaspor, the club is the most successful team in the province of Bursa. Although they have never played in a league together, İnegölspor's fans have had a long rivalry against Bursaspor due to Inegöl's demand for independence. Although the association states 1954 as the year of foundation in its logo, it was only founded in its current form in 1984.

history

The association was founded in 1954 under the name İnegöl İdman Yurdu Spor Kulübü (İnegöl İdman Yurdu SK or just İnegöl İdman Yurdu) . In 1984 the local notables of the city of Inegöl came together and called for a competitive football club. The demand is well received and so the three clubs İnegöl İdman Yurdu , Demir Spor Kulübü and İnegöl Spor Kulübü merge to form today's club İnegölspor. The club took part in the re-introduced third-rate TFF 2nd Lig in the summer of 1984 . Hasan Bilge became the first president of the association. Already in the first year the club won the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig and thus the promotion to the second-class TFF 1st Lig . Here they played for eight years and rose again in the summer of 1993 in the TFF 2nd Lig. After the promotion again succeeded in 1996, they immediately missed relegation and then played until the summer of 2008 in the TFF 2nd Lig, before entering the fourth-class TFF 3rd Lig relegation. After four years in the 3rd Lig, the team won the TFF 3rd Lig championship in the summer of 2012 and thus promoted to the TFF 2nd Lig.

successes

One of the most successful seasons in the club's history was the 2004/05 season, in which the team in the 2-B League (today TFF 2nd Lig ) fought for promotion to the Bank Asya 1st Lig and managed to make it through to the Play- qualify off-round of the group stage. But in the extra-play phase, the team was eliminated on penalties against Boluspor . In the same season, İnegölspor also appeared in the Fortis Türkiye Kupası national cup .
