Isaac (Heb .: יִצְחָק yiṣḥāq , "God laughed / joked," or "God (someone) made her laugh") is a Hebrew male first name , also known as family name is common.
The name comes from the Bible and describes there Isaac , son of Abraham and father of Jacob , the second of the three ancestors of the Israelites . The Hebrew name (Jitzchaq) was transcribed to Isaac through the Greek and Latin . The name is not used outside the Bible. It contains the Hebrew root word “laugh” and literally means “he laughs”.
