Career
Jassen Cullimore began his career as a hockey player with the Peterborough Petes , for whom he played in the Ontario Hockey League from 1988 to 1992 . During this time he was selected in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as the 29th player of the Vancouver Canucks . After Cullimore was on the ice from 1992 to 1994 exclusively for the then Vancouver farm team , the Hamilton Canucks , in the American Hockey League , he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the shortened 1994/95 season . On November 13, 1996, Cullimore was given in exchange for Donald Brashear to the Canadiens de Montréal , for which he played a year and a half. On January 22, 1998, the Tampa Bay Lightning took the player under contract, the Montréal had to give up due to the salary cap exceeded .
With Tampa Bay, Cullimore won the Stanley Cup in 2004 . During the lockout in the following season, the defender paused with the ice hockey. He previously signed on July 22, 2004 as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks . In June 2007, Cullimore was first transferred to his ex-club Canadiens de Montréal, before he was given to the Florida Panthers in October of the same year - without having played for the Canadiens beforehand . With the Panthers he was a regular for two years, but after the 2008/09 season , the management did not renew his contract.
In October 2009 he received a try-out contract with the Rockford IceHogs from the AHL. His good performance led to his return to the Chicago Blackhawks, who signed him in February 2010. Cullimore spent the entire season in Rockford, however, for the 2010/11 season he was appointed to the NHL squad in Chicago. After 36 NHL games, he was sent back to the farm team in January 2011. In the summer of 2011, Cullimore decided to move to Europe and signed an annual contract with the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League . After the season, the defender ended his active career at the age of 39.
International
For Canada , Cullimore took part in the 1992 World Junior Championships in Germany . He was used in all seven tournament games and scored one goal. The team came in sixth at the end of the tournament.
