Jérôme Roussillon (born January 6, 1993 in Sarcelles ) is a French football player . The left defender is under contract with VfL Wolfsburg .

Career

In the club

Roussillon was trained in the youth of INF Clairefontaine and FC Sochaux . He made his professional debut for Sochaux on May 2, 2012 in the 2-1 away defeat against AC Ajaccio when he came on for Ryad Boudebouz in the 76th minute .

In January 2015, Roussillon was signed by Montpellier HSC , but remained on loan with Sochaux until the end of the season. From the 2015/16 season he was part of the squad of HSC Montpellier.

For the season 2018/19 Roussillon moved to VfL Wolfsburg . He signed a contract with Wolves that ran until June 30, 2022. On November 24, 2018, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga in a 1-0 win in the Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig . After the end of the season, Roussillon extended his contract early until 2023.

In the national team

Roussillon played a total of five international matches for the youth national teams of the French Football Association : between 2010 and 2011 he made three appearances in France's U18 national team and in 2013 he played in two friendly matches for the French U20 . There he completed the second half against the Portuguese U20s and against the Romanian U21s .
