Joaquín Eguía Lis
Joaquín Eguía Lis (born August 17, 1833 in Mexico City , † 1917 ) was a Mexican lawyer, university professor and first rector of the Universidad Nacional de México .
biography
Eguía studied from 1848 on a scholarship at the Colegio of San Ildefonso and graduated as a lawyer in 1861. He was later rector of the Colegio de San Ildefonso and professor of patriarchal and canon law at the Escuela Nacional de Jurisprudencia . In 1874 he became director of the land registry and from September 1910 to September 1913 he was rector of the Universidad Nacional de México.
Eguía was a member of the lawyer of the Bar Association ( Colegio de Abogados ) and the Sociedad de Geografía y Estadística .
