Octavio Rivero Serrano
Octavio Rivero Serrano (born June 15, 1929 in Puebla ) is a Mexican pulmonologist and former rector of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
biography
Rivero studied until 1953 at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina , the later medical faculty of the UNAM. He specialized in respiratory diseases, researches and teaches as a professor at the medical faculty of UNAM, of which he became director in 1977. He was head of the Department of Medical Education, Head of the Pneumology Department and Sub-Director of the Main Hospital ( Hospital General ) of the Secretaría de Salubridad y Asistencia . From January 3, 1981 to January 2, 1985, he was Rector of the UNAM. Rivero is a member of national and international professional associations.
