Alfonso Pruneda García

Alfonso Pruneda García (* 1879 in Mexico City , † 1957 ) was a Mexican surgeon and rector of the Universidad Nacional de México (UNM).

biography

Pruneda completed his medical studies at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina . In 1907 he worked as a professor in Hospital Béistegui and in 1910 became a member of the university council of the newly founded UNM, where he also represented the Ministry of Public Education and Fine Arts from 1912 to 1913. During the same period he was also director of the Escuela Nacional de Altos Estudios (ENEA) and then worked from 1913 as a professor at the Juárez de México Hospital . From 1912 to 1922 he was rector of the Universidad Popular Mexicana . From December 30, 1924 to November 30, 1928 he was rector of the UAM. He received honorary doctorates from UAM and the University of Hamburg .
