Johann Ackermann (born January 11, 1984 ) is a German triathlete . He is vice European champion in aquathlon (2011), winner of the long distance triathlon (2014) and is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Johann Ackermann was active in swimming in his youth.

Vice-European Champion Aquathlon 2011

In 2011 he became Vice-European Champion in Aquathlon at Swim & Run Cologne (1 km swim and 5 km run).

The graduate sports scientist ( DSHS ) and professional triathlete lives in Cologne and starts for the Mach 3 Köln club . He works in the club as a trainer for popular sports. With his second right to start, he takes part in competitions in the 1st Bundesliga Triathlon for the Cologne Triathlon Team 01 .

First Ironman start in 2013

In November 2013, Ackermann started his first Ironman race in Arizona (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and he finished tenth.

With a victory in the Ironman distance at the Cologne Triathlon Weekend 2014 and the victory in the Bonn Triathlon in the middle distance in the same year, Ackermann was also able to draw attention to the long distances.

In June 2015, he was able to successfully defend his title at the Bonn Triathlon with a new course record. At the German long-distance triathlon championships, he finished fifth in July 2016.

In summer 2019 he had to take a break due to an injury after a sacrum fracture.
