John G. Wickser

John G. Wickser (born October 17, 1856 in Buffalo , New York , † July 1, 1928 ibid) was an American businessman and politician ( Republican Party ). He was Treasurer of State of New York from 1903 to 1905 . The mayor of Buffalo Philip Becker was his uncle.

Life

John G. Wickser's childhood was overshadowed by the civil war. Further details about his youth are not known. He was president of the Buffalo German Insurance Company and the Buffalo Commercial Insurance Company. The Republican Party nominated him in 1902 for the office of Treasurer of State of New York. He was elected in November 1902. During his tenure he sat on the Board of Parole, which in 1904 rejected the parole of the multiple racketeer Albert J. Adams .
