Wheeler H. Bristol

Wheeler Hutchison Bristol (born January 16, 1818 in Canaan , New York , † November 21, 1904 in DeLand , Florida ) was an American engineer, railroad manager and politician . He was Treasurer of State of New York from 1868 to 1871 .

Career

Wheeler Hutchison Bristol, son of Sally Hutchinson and George Bristol, was born in Columbia County about three years after the end of the British-American War . Nothing is known about his youth. On October 5, 1848, he married Mary Ann Worthington. He was elected Treasurer of State of New York in 1867 and held the post from 1868 to 1869. His estate in Glen Mary in Oswego, New York, which he had acquired from Nathaniel Parker Willis , who lived there between 1837 and 1842, became Robbed in 1886 while Bristol was in Florida.
