John G. Wallenmeier junior

John G. Wallenmeier junior (born October 10, 1862 in Buffalo , New York , † October 25, 1917 in Tonawanda , New York) was an American politician ( Republican Party ). From 1905 to 1907 he was Treasurer of State of New York.

Career

John G. Wallenmeier Jr. was born in Erie County during the Civil War . Nothing is known about his youth. In 1896, at the Republican State Convention in New York, he supported the nomination of William McKinley for president of the United States against the majority, led by Thomas C. Platt , who supported Levi P. Morton . After McKinley was elected president, he appointed Wallenmeier postmaster of Tonawanda. Wallenmeier took part in the Republican National Convention in 1904 as a substitute delegate . The Republican Party nominated him for the office of Treasurer of State of New York. In the next election in November 1904, he won a victory. In 1906 he was again nominated by the Republican Party for the post of Treasurer of State. In the following election in November 1906 he suffered a defeat against the Democrat Julius Hauser .
