Thomas Farrington

Thomas Farrington ( 1798 - December 2, 1872 ) was an American lawyer and politician . He was Treasurer of State of New York from 1842 to 1845 and from 1846 to 1847 .

Career

Nothing is known about Thomas Farrington's youth. Farrington lived in Owego, New York. It is not known whether he was born there. Farrington served in the New York State Assembly for Tioga County in 1833 and 1840 . On April 30, 1835, he became the guardianship and probate judge in Tioga County. The economic crisis of 1837 overshadowed the following years. He was named Treasurer of State of New York in 1842 and 1846. In 1845 he held the rank of adjutant general in the New York militia . In 1856 he attended the Republican National Convention as a delegate for New York .
