Joseph Franz Maria von Seinsheim (born January 27, 1707 , † January 14, 1787 in Munich ) was a diplomat and politician of the Electorate of Bavaria .

Life

Joseph Franz Maria von Seinsheim was the son of Anna Philippine von Schönborn and Maximilian Franz von Seinsheim and the older brother of Adam Friedrich von Seinsheim .

1726 Chamberlain and Councilor of Charles VII (HRR) . 1731 Bavarian ambassador in Mannheim .

1739 marriage to Maria Johanna Constantia Felicitas von Hatzfeld (* 1711; † March 31, 1757). Maximilian Clemens Joseph von Seinsheim (* 1751; † 1803), father of Karl von Seinsheim, was one of their eight children .

1742 envoy to Maria Theresia and Franz I. Stephan (HRR) in Vienna . then envoy in The Hague . 1745 Conference Minister in Munich. 1747 Chief Steward of the Bavarian Electress Maria Anna of Saxony (1728–1797) . 1750 Minister of War .

He and Johann Maximilian IV. Emanuel von Preysing negotiated with Louis-Gabriel, Comte du Buat-Nançay the first military convention signed with France on March 29, 1757 . In the Subsidies Treaty of Compiègne, Kurbayern was promised neutrality in the event of a military conflict by France. 1758 marriage to Josepha Maria Anna von Hoheneck (* 1731; † 1800 in Munich).

In 1770 he was Foreign Minister of the State of Bavaria .

From 1761 to 1762, from 1769 to 1771 and from 1779 until his death he was President of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .

In 1780 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived in the Palais Seinsheim .
