Königssee (community district)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Königssee has been part of the municipality of Schönau am Königssee in the Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgadener Land since 1978 .

history

Probably as early as the late 14th century was the first Koenigssee Gnotschafterbezirk of "Ur gnotschaft " Schonau in Berchtesgaden , that from 1380 the heartland of Reichsprälatur Berchtesgaden and the later independent direct imperial Berchtesgaden Provostry formed (1559-1803). After three changes of rulership in quick succession, in 1810 the Berchtesgadener Land and its Gnotships became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria, and Schönau became a municipality from 1817 . In the same year, the previously Schönau gnotships Faselsberg , Königssee and Schwöb were combined to form the independent municipality of Königssee . In 1978, in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria, the municipalities of Schönau and Königssee were merged again into the unitary municipality of Schönau am Königssee, with roughly the same area size as the former original message. Since then, the district of Königssee, which was named after the formerly independent municipality, has also been a district of Schönau am Königssee, which, like the other districts, is still referred to by the locals as Gnotschaft.
