Jens Heinz Richard Knossalla (born July 7, 1986 in Malsch ), known as Knossi , is a German entertainer . He gained notoriety through his participation in various television formats and as a poker commentator , presenter and live streamer. Knossalla calls himself a king and usually appears with a crown .

Personal

Knossalla grew up in Rastatt and trained as an office clerk . He is the father of a son born in 2019.

Career

Participation in television formats

In 2008 Knossalla made his first television appearance as a participant in the game show WipeOut - Don't cry, run! on ProSieben . In 2010 he was seen on the TV format Der Kreuzfahrtkönig broadcast on RTL II . In 2011 Knossalla took part in the 17 meters game show hosted by Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf . In November 2012 he could be seen on VOX as part of the pseudo-docu-soap Rent, Buy, Live .

In addition, Knossalla played several small roles in the pseudo-documentaries Judge Alexander Hold , Judge Barbara Salesch , Lenßen & Partner , K11 - Commissioners in action and sue me! as well as in the soap opera Good Times, Bad Times .

As part of his friend Udo Bönstrup's participation in the eighth season of Celebrity Big Brother , Knossalla appeared in 2020 as a studio guest on Celebrity Big Brother (one appearance), Celebrity Big Brother - Warm up Show with Aaron (three appearances) and Celebrity Big Brother - Die Late Night Show (two appearances).

Knossalla prevailed against Natalie Hof in the 2011 casting show broadcast by ProSieben , PokerStars Seeks the PokerAss, and gained national fame. His only significant live tournament success was in July 2013 at the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . There Knossalla finished 240th out of 6,352 players in the main event , which is played in the No Limit Hold'em variant and is commonly referred to as the Poker World Championship, and received prize money of around 37,000 US dollars . In total, he earned almost $ 50,000 in poker in live tournaments. Knossalla plays under the nickname Knossi on the online poker platform PokerStars . His online tournament winnings there amount to almost $ 30,000.

Knossalla regularly moderated various poker tournament series for PokerToday . For PokerStars , he and Martin Pott reported live from the main event of the European Poker Tour and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure . The presenter duo could also be heard at the 2017 PokerStars Championship . From 2012 onwards, Knossalla had its own column in the specialist magazine Pokerblatt called “The Knaller von Knossalla”. From November 2016, he hosted the PokerStars long-term advertising program Spin & Go Show every Tuesday on the TV channel Sport1 . From the beginning of May 2017 he was also the presenter of the Pokerstars.de Late Night Show on Sport1.

Livestreamer

Knossalla streams several times a week on his Twitch channel called TheRealKnossi . It has more than 1.2 million followers, making it the third most popular German Twitch channel . The highlights from his streams are regularly uploaded to his YouTube channel Knossi , which has over a million subscribers as of July 2020.

The most common formats on his Twitch channel are playing online slot machines , playing online poker, a talent show and a talk show. In the latter, prominent guests such as Kim Dotcom , Sido , Bushido or Pietro Lombardi regularly act as co-moderators. At the end of January 2020, Knossalla released the single Alge , the text of which is based on his livestreams. The song entered the German single charts at number 50 . The music video received more than 8.5 million views on YouTube. On June 12, 2020, his second single Katsching followed in cooperation with Die Atzen , which also made it into the German single charts.

From July 16-19, 2020, Knossalla hosted a 72-hour livestream on its Twitch channel. At the so-called " fishing camp " near Brandenburg were Sido , Manny Marc , Sascha Hellinger and various guests such as Kool Savas , gynecologist , Andreas Bourani and Pietro Lombardi involved. On the first day, the stream cracked the German audience record on the Twitch streaming platform, with around 220,000 simultaneous viewers at times, which was expanded to over 300,000 parallel viewers on the evening of the third day.

His first book Knossi - King of the Internet: About my rise and success as a streamer is due to appear on October 20, 2020 .
