The triple jump women in the 2006 European Athletics Championships was on 8 and 9 August 2006 at the Ullevi stadium of the city of Gothenburg held.

With gold and bronze, the Russian triple jumpers won two medals in this competition. European champion was the Olympic silver medalist from 2000 , Olympic medalist in 2004 and two-time world champion ( 2001 / 2003 ) Tatjana Lebedeva . Silver went to the Greek 2004 Olympic runner-up, Hrisopiyí Devetzí . The World Cup third in 2005 Anna Pjatych finished third.

qualification

25 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification distance for the direct entry into the final was 14.05 m. Nine athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the three athletes placed next to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). So finally 13.93 m had to be achieved for the final.

In the first attempt of the competition Chrysopigi Devetzi achieved a personal best of the season with 15.05 m. The two favorite Russians Anna Pjatych and Tatjana Lebedewa got closer with each round. With her last jump Lebedewa managed to overtake the Greek and become European champion.
