The women's triple jump at the European Athletics Championships 2018 took place on August 8th and 11th in the Olympic Stadium in the German capital Berlin .

The Greek Paraskevi Papachristou became European champion. She won ahead of the German Kristin Gierisch . The Spaniard Ana Peleteiro won the bronze medal.

The Polish Anna Jagaciak-Michalska was 14.01 m not enough for the final

The athletes competed in two groups for a qualifying round. The qualification distance required for direct entry into the final was 14.05 m. Since exactly twelve jumpers reached or exceeded this value - highlighted in light blue, the final field did not have to be filled any further.

There was a larger field of favorites in this competition. These included the Portuguese European champion of 2016 and Olympic Sixth of 2016 patrícia mamona, the Israeli Hanna Knyazyeva - including Vice European Champion 2016 and Vice World Champion in 2015 , the Ukrainian Olympic medalist in 2012 and European champion of 2012 / 2014 Olha Saladuha and the German Cup -Fünfte by 2017 Kristin Gierisch.

It was very close in the triple jump final. In lap one, Gierisch took the lead with 14.45 m. Second was the Spaniard Ana Peleteiro with 14.42 m ahead of Knjasjewa-Minenko, who had achieved 14.37 m. In the second round, the Greek Paraskevi Papachristou reached 14.60 m, which put her in the lead. There were no further changes until round four. The Romanian Elena Panțuroiu jumped 14.38 m. With that she pushed Knjasjewa-Minenko to fifth place. The Bulgarian Gabriela Petrowa achieved 14.25 m, which meant sixth place. With her fifth jump, she climbed another centimeter, but that didn't change her position. There were no further shifts in position. In the last round, Peleteiro improved her top distance to 14.44 m and remained third.

Paraskevi Papachristou became European champion, Kristin Gierisch won silver fifteen centimeters behind. As a bronze medalist, Ana Peleteiro had only one centimeter less on her account. Fourth was Elena Panțuroiu, who missed a medal by six centimeters. Hanna Knjasjewa-Minenko followed in fifth place just a further centimeter behind. Gabriela Petrowa was sixth with 14.26 m, her width was eleven centimeters behind Knjasjewa-Minenko's result.
