38 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 5.75 m. After completing all attempts over 5.70 m, only thirteen jumpers were left in the competition. The jury decided to allow these thirteen athletes (highlighted in light green) to the final, so the jump height of 5.75 m no longer had to be tackled.
