The 400-meter hurdles of the men at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics was from 7 to 10 August 2001 Commonwealth Stadium the Canadian city of Edmonton held.
As world champion, Félix Sánchez from the Dominican Republic recorded his first major success at a world-class event. He won ahead of the Italian defending champion and European Championship third from 1998 Fabrizio Mori . Bronze went to the Japanese Dai Tamesue .
